Recognizing the Problem
Before digital cameras and smartphones landed in our pockets, our memorable moments were captured in print. For many of us, most of our lives have been documented this way. But as a result, so much of our personal and family history is at risk of being destroyed, lost, or forgotten.
For years, my parents had felt burdened and stressed with the responsibility of managing our family’s printed memorabilia. Thousands of photos (and I am not exaggerating) were stored in boxes in various cabinets and closets around their house, making it nearly impossible to find and enjoy them regularly. And as time went on, the threat of deterioration, mold, or natural disaster continued to concern us.
I was inspired to start Imprint when it hit me that one day, all of these boxes would be passed down to me…and then what? This problem wasn’t going to solve itself on its own. It was time to find a method for our family photo madness.
One by one, I dug into each box and began sorting and scanning our family photos in order until I had created a digital archive of our family story. Finally, we had access to all of our memories at our fingertips.
And I want to be able to do the same for you!
